Your ankle plays a crucial role in your body by connecting your leg to your foot and giving your body a way of passing important messages from your brain through to this area. Although it may seem like a very delicate and often unimportant area of the body, it’s actually crucial to your ability to walk, run and do many other things, in addition to giving you the flexibility to be able to perform many of these tasks with ease.
You may find that your ankle is the first victim of any slip, trip or fall that you are subjected to in the workplace and if this is the case the small and delicate nature of the ankle often means that it doesn’t take a lot for you to be left with quite substantial injuries. You may initially think that a small twinge in your ankle is not a serious problems – but if this is left untreated it can often develop into something far more serious.
The workplace is one area where you can easily sustain an ankle injury either through working on an uneven surface or through a fall. If you are the victim of a fall on a flight of stairs due to poor lighting or even due to items which have been left lying around then you could sustain an injury in the same way that you could if you were to fall from scaffolding that hadn’t been constructed properly.
Regardless of the circumstances that surround your broken ankle, if you feel that you have been treated unfairly then you could be eligible to make a compensation claim in this case. This claim could cover any costs that you have incurred through medical expenses or rehabilitation that you require from your injury.
If your injuries were caused through the fault of another person then you shouldn’t be left to foot the bill – nor should you suffer in silence. In this situation a compensation claim could be necessary to reclaim what is rightfully yours.
