There are a number of reasons to take organic farming into account, which probably goes without saying. Philippe van den Bossche is one of the many avid supporters of his level of growth and there are many consumers who see the benefits behind it as well. That being said, what are some of the areas that should have more in the way of organics seen? There are many different points to take into account and I believe that organics in Europe should be given, at the least, more awareness.
Times of Malta posted an article in regards to organic farming in Europe, which should be given attention by Philippe van den Bossche, amongst others. Names the likes of Philippe know all too well how important it is to stay healthy and, without question, the most organic crops should be seen as well. A European Commission publication, back in 2011, stated that all but 0.2 percent of the land in Malta failed to bring about these types of products. It’s an important point, to say the least.
There were matters taken as far as cultivation was concerned, though, which goes to show that the situation was not exactly slept on. It didn’t help terribly, as the article would go on to mention, since said situation did not exactly change much since 2007. There were 20 hectares added since that time – three more since 2011 – but it didn’t seem as though they helped much in terms of bringing organic to the forefront. It is unfortunate that this is the case, especially since there are so many different points that help to make these natural crops stand out.
First of all, keep in mind that organic crops are not subject to pesticide exposure, which is one of the many points that help to make them healthy. Secondly, what about the level of interaction that is seen between various parties? The business that happens from farmer to consumer is very local, which is exactly the type of scope that should be had as far as farming of this caliber is concerned. This, more than anything else, will bring about some of the best crops that can be imagined.
I think that there is strong level of understanding by Philippe van den Bossche in terms of organics. However, I think that there should be an even greater level seen on the matter, especially since organic cultivation should be seen in many other areas of the world. There are so many benefits to be had with these types of crops and my only hope is that such awareness is seen in the long term. Everyone should be able to benefit from these various fruits and vegetables, after all.
