Joystick switches is made to be able to freely move around in more than one axis. It can have more than one switch which will be actuated depending on the direction in which it is being pushed. As you notice, joysticks are also used in control video games and toy robots.
There are lot more types available. But most of it are already used for big operations. Most of them are found in nuclear reactors, industries and plant processing. There are some unique kinds that are made to be able to respond to different heavy applications. One example is the proximity optical.
